First ruby-throated hummingbirds of the season
(Left) A lone female visited the feeder all to herself several times from late afternoon until near sunset. This is the first time a female was observed here first before a male. Her mannerisms strongly remind of the runt, possibly from the past two seasons, that was always lagging several days behind all others.
(Right) Immediately after sunset in the low twilight, a strapping adult male spent about three minutes enjoying the feeder.
