Vey windy front going through after late night rains. Scared up a single Monarch from the grasses in one of our pastures around 1 p.m. this afternoon. Kept trying to follow it in case it landed for an extended look but the wind had it quite unsettled. Was able to get close enough to determine it indeed was a Monarch, just not long enough to determine sex. Did not have a camera with me at the time, so no photograph.
