At 11:30am it was 83 degrees F, overcast, with 77% humidity, and with strong winds from the S. I saw three monarch butterflies (2 males, 1 female) ~ all with fresh wings. They were in a meadow with abundant flowering slim milkweed, green milkweed, prairie plantains, prairie parsley, and lemon beebalm flowers. This is the bright-winged female as she nectars from slim milkweed (Asclepias linearis) blossoms ~ the current favorite of the monarchs.
