This gorgeous adult monarch most likely a female was landing on my second year common milkweed laying eggs. I spotted her while doing yard work and dropped everything when I saw her. I had to wait 5 minutes before taking the shot to give her space. This is my second year with common milkweed and will be my first year rearing monarchs. I had trouble last year with a combination of ants and wasps that decimated my caterpillars.
