Sonar is a method that uses sound for detection and communication. It's
usually used for underwater detection of submarines, mines, and barriers. It's
also used for measuring water depths and mapping ocean floors. Bat's sonar is a
natural detection system to locate obstacles and prey. The bat lets off a
series of high pitched squeaks. The sound waves bounce off objects in front of
the bat and are reflected back to its ears and frace. The bat can then
determine the distance, direction, and size of the object, and if it's moving
or not.
