  • Caribou information, clarification

    I was reading a book called, "A Caribou Journey", written by Debbie
    S. Miller. In this book it says that the name caribou comes from the Micmac
    Indian word "galipu", but the Caribou Migration Update of March 6, says that
    it comes from the Micmac Indian word "xalibu", which means 'power' or
    'shoveler'. I don't know if there is two different meanings or not. Please
    let know, thanks.
