Caribou information, clarificationkevin adams (bob1@knet.flemingc.on.ca)Sat, 22 Mar 1997 21:52:41 GMT
S. Miller. In this book it says that the name caribou comes from the Micmac Indian word "galipu", but the Caribou Migration Update of March 6, says that it comes from the Micmac Indian word "xalibu", which means 'power' or 'shoveler'. I don't know if there is two different meanings or not. Please let know, thanks. Doug McKenzie Bobcaygeon Public School Bobcaygeon, Ontario
