Challenge Question #9

Dear Mr. Nye,
I know that heat rises becuase thermals allow eagles and other
birds to defy gravity and soar upward so they can glide to another
thermal. Some proof from my own experiences is; at home I sometimes
make maccaroni and cheese. While the water is boiling, I have put my
hand about one foot above the pot and I can feel the heat from the
burner and the pot. EXTRA CREDIT: Take the propellar off of a toy plane.
Hold it about one foot above a pot of boiling water and the heat should
turn the propeller slightly.
Sincerely,
Daniel Westerling
