freezes and then the sap thaws in the Spring and climbs up the trees.In the top part of the tree there is a hose that sucks the sap back down into the buckets.From there the buckets are taken to the SuargerHouse.It takes 35 to 45 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.
