  • Challenge Question # 5

My name is Mary Heather, and I'm from Mr. Hiday's Biology class at PUC
Prep School. Here is my answer:

Bioaccumulate refers to the way a toxin or other substance builds up in a
food chain. In the loons' food chain, something such as mercury is found
in small amounts in fishs' food. If the fish eat a lot then they have a
higher level of mercury than their food source. In turn, loons eat the
fish and have an even greater amount of mercury in their bodies. That is
    bioaccumulation.
