    I think that a large marin mammal like the mamatee can not tolerate the
    cold water like the other marine mammals. Manatee may not have enought
    blubber or weight to keep them warm.

    Manatees are sensitive to colder water. If the temp. is lower than 68
    degrees they can not tolerate it and migrate to warmer waters.
