Hi! My name is Yalile. I am from El Paso, Texas. The name of the
school I attend is Montwood High. I have an answer to the Challenge
    Question #1.
To begin, photoperiod is the number of daylight hours best suited to
the growth and maturation of an organism. Humans and plants depend on the
sun to survive. In order for the plants to grow, they need the heat and
light of the sun. So if the season changes from summer to winter, then
the plants don't receive the sunlight they need. If it is too cold and
the plants don't get the sunlight, they will die. The animals that depend
on plants will also die as will as humans because plants give off the
oxygen that we breathe. Predators, such as wolves, tigers, lions,
cheetahs, etc., eat prey, for example: rabbits, deer, etc. The prey eat
plants. It is all like a chain. During winter, there isn't as much food
for animals as there is in the summer or maybe spring.
I don't know if you understood my answer to the question. I think it
is pretty self-explanatory. I am not sure if the answer is correct. I
hope to hear a response from you soon.
