sprayed their crops and then the worms ate plants that had the spray on them. We still have a lot of planes that spray crops here in Nebraska but the farmers are much more careful about the chemicals that they use. Our farmers have to take tests and get licenses to spray chemicals any more. We also have farmers who put chemicals on the fields through their center pivot irrigation systems. They have to be very careful that the chemicals don't go back down into the wells which would contaminate the Ogalalla Aquifer. We want to remind people who visit our part of the country during the summer not to stop and play in the water they see being pumped on the fields. It may have chemicals in it.
