    Monarch larvae

    Hello,

We would like to share some really neat information about a stop one of
the Monarchs made. There is some butterfly weed in some flower pots in
my backyard and we were very pleased and excited to find that a female
chose to lay some eggs there. We first noticed the larvae Tuesday, April
29 -- they were about half the size of a standard staple and even though
they were very tiny you could see the yellow, black and white banding.
They have grown rapidly since then and are now about 3/4 of an inch long.

We are also waiting for our paper butterflies from the symbolic
migration. The students have really enjoyed this project.
