Monarchs know when to leave Mexico because of the temperature and winds. If the Monarchs leave too early, they might get too cold, they might freeze, or they may get dehydrated. If the Monarchs leave too late, they might get chilly, if might be too hot and they couldn't find protection from the heat, and they won't be able to fly. We also think the weather is a major factor.
