Journey North
Challenge Question # 7
Robin Migration

"Why do you think male robins return before the females? What are the
advantages and disadvantages of coming early?"

The males want to mark their territory and fight before the females come. An
advantage to early arrival would be finding better territory and being ready
for their mates. A disadvantage to coming early might be too cold for them
and the trees wouldn't be as ready for nesting with limited nesting
materials. From: Megan of Bright Star Academy, San Antonio, TX
