Baby Robin

Can you give me some advice about a baby robin that cannot yet fly and somehow
ended up on our lawn? The parents still come to feed it during the day. In
the evening we have been placing it in a birdcage so that wild animals (foxes)
and some house pets (cats) will not have it for dinner.

In the morning we take it out and the parents take over. Should we attempt to
feed it? How long will it take to learn to fly? (It does flutter it's wings
and hop but does not get more than 4-6 inches off the ground.)
