Challenge question #1
Our class is excited about these challenge questions. We believe that
when the air temperature changes, the bird's tail feathers become
heavier and that is how the birds know to migrate. In August, even
though the temperature remains hot during the day, there is a cooling in
the evening and early morning.
We live in Salt Lake City, Utah and it is still very hot during the
day. However, we have noticed the change in the early morning
temperatures and we expect the geese to soon start their migration.
(We are also memorizing the poem "Something Told the Wild Geese" by
Rachel Field.)
