Challenge Question #1

I believe the migration started early this year because of the weather. Many
are predicting a very harsh, long, cold winter. Our weather has been so
unsettled this year that I do believe it could affect the birds and their
migration patterns.

Our class has a question. In the state of Idaho, our state bird is the
mountain bluebird. We have read that the bluebird migrates south for the
winter, but it does not tell us where they migrate to. Do any of you have
information about the mountain bluebird and its migration habits. Or do you
have a suggestion for a source where we could find the answer for ourselves?
Sincerely, Mrs. Judy Huter, 4th grade teacher,
Council Elem. School, Council, Idaho
