Symbolic Migration Lessons
From: Emily Ference (EFerence@ByramSchools.k12.nj.us)
Our class guesses that there are 33,364 paper butterflies. We multiplied the number of envelopes you gave us by the average number of butterflies in each envelope that you gave us which is 22. Since most of our classes are above 22 students we decided to add a few extra butterflies to the product of our problem. The class members each gave a number they thought it would be over the total. Then the teacher averaged all of the answers the students gave and added that average of 34 onto the total. That is how we selected our number.Mrs. Ference's Class
