Challenge Question #1Allison L. Bailey (bailey_a@popmail.firn.edu)Sat, 18 Sep 1999 19:30:08 -0400
the students in Angangueo, Michoacan, will report the first big wave of monarchs arriving at the over-wintering sites. We considered things like the distance the monarchs may have to travel, the speed at which they will travel, and the appoximate date when monarchs are usually first seen (around the Day of the Dead on Nov. 2). After the six groups offered their predictions, we calculated a date that was somewhere in the middle of the predictions. The date our classes have chosen is October 18.
