An example of heat rising is the temperature of water. With the exception of
a frozen lake, the temperature of water nearest the surface is always warmer
than that of the water at the bottom. The two main reasons for this is the
concentration of oxygen as well as solar energy heating the water.
Another fine example of this is at Sea World of Ohio. At the Woods Arena
(for the Wild Wings Bird Show)at the top of a large hill, it has been
documented that the temperature of the blacktop is approximately 10degrees F
hotter than the black top at the bottom of the hill.
