A manatee has a thin layer of fat, because it eats primarily plants. It
is smaller than a whale. It has a small heart, and small lungs, therefore
it doesn't have much power to heat itself. A whale has a heavy layer of
fat, because it eats primarily small animals. It is larger than a
manatee. It has a large heart, and large lungs, therefore it has lots of
    power to heat itself.
