Besides boat collisions, other causes of manatee
injury or death consist mainly of pollution. Pollution
does many things to the manatees. For one, the
manatees ingest the pollution, and creates problems
with their digestive systems. another problem is that
the pollution might stop growth of certain plants, and
will adjust the food chain and might cause
complications with other animals including the
manatee.
Humans are the cause of the pollution, and the problem
is that many other animals have become extinct because
of pollution and the problems they cause.
