We are following the migration of the manatees. The
manatee's food web is definitely affected by the change in
the amount of light in one day. If the amount of light gets
shorter and shorter, the food that a manatee gets each day
also continues to decrease. The plants that are in a
manatee's diet depend on sunlight to grow. The manatees
must go to where the sun is present for a longer period of
time, so that their food source can continue to increase.
The sun also plays an important part of the manatee's daily
intake of food., because if the sun is only out for a few
hours in a day, the manatee has only that much time to
collect food. Without the proper amount of food, the
manatee will ineveitably die. Therefore, the migrating
process depends on how much sunlight is in one day.

    Sincerely,
    Kaci, Anna, and Nathan
