We found out that when it is cold monarch butterflies wings do not work properly and the monarchs cannot fly. So if a monarch is in Texas you could tell it is from Mexico because it would be flying better. It would be flying better because they have been in a warm climate for the winter, and it's wings are not cold. If a monarch is in Texas you could tell it was from the Texas over-wintering population because it would not be fly as well it can. That means they were in a cold climate for the winter and their wings are cold. If their wings are cold it is hard to fly. That is our answer to CHALLENGE QUESTION #13.
