Dear Journey North,
We think that even a few degrees could effect the food supply for the
whales or the health of the baby whale. Baby whales don't have as much
blubber as the adults so they could get too cold or too hot. And since
whales eat little tiny plankton, the plankton might not be able to take
the temperature changes.... and that means less food. And Brandon
thought that maybe instead of breeding, the whales would be looking for
food.
