We had everyone in the class estimate when they thought ice-out on the
Tanana River would occur, then we found the median and the mode of all
our guesses. We had three modes, but April 30th came up as a mode and
the median so that is our official class guess. We were amazed at how
thick the ice was on the river when it was measured in mid-March!
