The heron flies with his neck curled while the crane has his neck stretched
out because the heron is a larger bird and curls its neck to balance itself.
The heron also possibly bends its neck to search for fish as it flys over
water. The crane is a smaller bird and it doesn't need as much effort to
balance itself. When the crane lands in marshes, he searches for insects
and frogs and doesn't look for food while flying. He, therefore, flys
    looking straight ahead.
