Dear Eagle Eye Nye Guy,
I have posted this sighting on the sightings board but wanted to send the
pic I took, foggy as it is, for reference. It is early in the season and
there has already been alot of eagle activity. We have a better camera lens
this year and hope to get some better shots.
Re; the challenge question- How does an eagle catch a duck? We are hoping
that it can only be done in flight. We have ducks and they are right
beneath and between the eagles nest and perch. Never have they tried to
catch one of our ducks. In fact, we suspect that the eagles presence has
provided protection for our ducks. We have lost many ducks to cayotes and
only two ducks to hawks and those losses occured when Bonnie and Clyde were
off on their river fishing trip in late Sept.

Greetings from Puget Sound. Our resident eagles, Bonnie and Clyde have been
very active in the last week and have cleaned up their nest. Last night we
spotted a traveling female circling over Bonnie's favorite perch. Bonnie
called to her with calm chirps and barks until Clyde, (sitting a couple
hundred yrds away on the nest),gave a high pitch cry of disapproval. Bonnie
sprang from her perch at a high speed toward the traveler. After an
agressive tangle of talons the traveler left the area. However, this
morning she was back and perched right outside our kitchen window.
