They both shiver to build up heat. People shiver to maintain a temperature
close to 98.6F, because they're warm-blooded. Monarchs shiver to be able
to move, because they're cold-blooded. They need to increase their body
temperature. We agree with the theory that monarchs shiver to get off the
ground, and to be out of danger.
