As part of our 2nd grade science unit on 'Soils' we teamed up with the 4th graders to plant 120 bulbs in a location all the children agreed was an optimum site. We did this on 10/4/01...unfortunately the outside sprinklers have not been turned off (as was anticipated) so we will have to see if bulbs actually bloom after way too much water! But then we took 20 bulbs and planted those in shade, without fertilzer, AND on a slope outside of our classroom...not so optimum conditions! We are looking forward to observing what Spring brings!
