Volunteers of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary are wondering whether whales sleep or not. In our opinion, we think that whales do sleep to get their energy for the next day. These whales migrate 6,00 miles each season. Sleeping lets your brain and muscles rest for a long journey. For example, when humans swim for long periods of time, they get exhausted and must rest. When whales travel for long periods of time in the ocean, we figure that they would get exhausted as well.
