I really enjoyed this activity with my students. It is the first time I have participated. I found JN while taking a technology course. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the experience for me was convincing my students and watching them react to the fact that I did not "know the right answers". This kind of authentic investigation is most valuable to learners of all ages. I teach 5 sections of eighth grade science. I found managing the activity challenging...I learned that I need to spend more time on the research part. I think my students learned alot about latitude and longitude...which was my goal. We are about to begin a part of our planteary science unit that focuses on time. This activity will give them essential background experience. I am curious about how many groups and what ages participate successfully with this. Identifying the locations was a lot of work for my eighth graders. Our spring break falling this week didnt help.
Thanks for the experience...it was very worthwhile.
    Respectfully,
    Ryan Revel
