Eagles carry their prey with their talons and not with their beaks because it is easier to grasp with talons. Their prey is too large for its beak. The eagles talons are strong and beaks are built for tearing not grasping. They also use their talons because it is the quickest way to get their prey. Once the eagle spots its prey, it swoops down and grabs the prey in its talons.
