After 4 weeks of testing fifth grade students in Mr Fahrendorff's room found no difference between balancing an egg on the equinox and on other days. The results of our five trials were the following: 2 weeks prior to the equinox-17 oof 21 students got eggs to balance at least once,13 students got eggs to balance multiple times 1 week before the eqinox-18 of 21 students got eggs to balance at least once,14 students got eggs to balance more than once On the eqinox we were not in school but students continued the expriment at home. All 13 students who tried the experiment reported that they were able to get the eggs to balance. The students who were successful on the equinox had previously gotten eggs to balane at least once at school. The two weeks after the equinox has seen similar results. In both cases 19 of 21 students got eggs to balance at least once with 16 students getting eggs to balance multiple times. As a result of our experiment results we conclude that the idea of the equinox producing some unique balance which would allow eggs to balance on that day only is a myth. Our class enjoyed the activity.Only three students thought when we started the experiment that eggs would balance on any day.
