The equinox occurs at the same time everywhere on the Earth because the earth's orbit around the sun causes the whole earth not to be tilted toward/away from the sun. The earth rotates each day and only the portion of the earth facing the sun gets "sunrise"; the other portion is in darkness and experiences night. HCS
