" How much warmer/colder than average was your hometown in January, 2006?
What kinds of temperature effects made your January different from other
years?"
According to the map, my hometown Ferrisburgh was more than 9 degrees
Farenheit warmer than usual.
This January was different because the snow melted almost as soon as the
next day. We didn't go cross country skiing or snowshoeing in physical
education class this year. At recess, we would all want to take our coats
off because it was so warm. I saw a lot more birds than usual. In some
places, the grass was still green. We could stay outside a lot longer to
play. We only had a couple inside recesses this winter and that was
sometimes because it was too muddy, not because it was too cold. It rained a
couple of times instead of snow.
