The answer to challenge question # 2 is:
On March 20, 1999 the lines of each photo period will intersect.
The reason fro this is that March 20 is the Vernal Equinox. That means the
time that the sun crosses the equator, making night and day of equal lenth
in all parts of the world. The Vernal Equinox occurs around March 21. And
the Autumnal Equinox occurs around September 22. We found our information
on calendars, internet, and Webster's dictionary.
