More Than 7000 Bulbs Planted!
There are now 154 gardens planted and students are predicting the arrival of spring.

So far this year 7,159 red emperor bulbs have been planted in 154 gardens. Garden clubs, classes and science clubs are reporting in.
Naugatuck, Connecticut: "A damp and chilly day in Naugatuck, CT when the Howard Whittemore Library's Scouts and Naugatuck Garden Club ceremoniously planted our first Journey North Tulip test garden."
McSherrystown, Pennsylvania: "The Science Club students were celebrating Fall by wearing costumes on Halloween and planting our bulbs."
Troutville, Virginia: "We are a second grade class in Troutville, VA. We are working with Tim Miller of the Education/Outreach Coordinator Mountain Castles Soil and Water Conservation District. We are excited to begin the process and see how others fair across the different states, cities and countries!"
Predicting the Arrival of Spring
Students at Washington STEM Academy in Winona Lake, IN planted their gardens this month. The three classes predicted when their bulbs would emerge.
“The middle of March,” voted Mr.McClintock’s class.
“The middle of April,” guesstimated Mrs. George’s students.
The end of March, or the beginning of April,” predicted Mrs. Simcoe’s class.
