Dear Friends of Journey North,
Our class received 24 butterflies this spring. We had eight with
orange tags, meaning that they were tagged by a tourist at the El Rosario
Monarch or the Sierra Cincua Sanctuary.
One butterfly had a green tag, denoting that it was tagged on the
Monarch's Migration Highway at Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.
Fifteen of the butterflies were clustered together and spent the
winter in Mexico.
All of the butterflies were beautiful works of art representing the
monarch butterfly. We are so very happy that these butterflies survived the
long and difficult migration.
