This idea comes from the Karelitz Kids multi-age 1/2 class at Moharimet Elementary School in Madbury , N.H. Our experiment will be to determine if the temperature around the bulb rises as the bulb begins to grow in the spring. We wonder if the growth energy creates heat. We want to monitor the temperature in the fall after planting and then compare to spring. We will use a monitor that has two probes, one for the soil next to the bulb and one for the soil away from the bulb.
