What to do with a monarch butterfly that we have

Hello,

Two weeks ago we found a monarch butterfly laying in our driveway. We
brought him in the house and have been feeding him grass and sugar water.
Although it seems a little stronger, when we put him outside on a nice day
he does not fly away. We are concerned because of the cold weather. What
should we do with him. We are trying to teach our 6 year old granddaughter
to care for wild animals etc but really don't know what to feed it (do we go
out and collect milkweed? ). Also it seems too cold outside for a
butterfly and it seems too weak.

Please advise us as to what to do.

Thanks in advance
