The intials "A.M." and "P.M." are the abrevetations for the time periods
of twelve midnight to twelve noon and then from noon to midnight.
"A.M." stands for Ante Meridiem, which means "The time from midnight to
noon" and "P.M." stands for Post Meridiem, which means "The time from
noon to midnight". Both words come from the Latin language.
