From: Teacher Vasha Rosenblum at South Shades Crest Elementary School and a group of 10 fourth-grade enrichment students. We are located in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, approximately 33 degrees 34' N and 86 degrees 45' W!

Journey North has provided some of the best learning experiences I have found in 29 years of teaching! It has sustained student and teacher interest for the entire school year! This class only met 2 hours a week and devoted 1 of those hours to analyzing the photoperiod data, calculating longitudes, and trying to locate the Mystery Sites. This project did it all - integrated subject matter (social studies, science, mathematics, reading) and provided clear direction for meaningful lessons that helped students develop real understanding of latitude, longitude, and locating points onthe globe. Thank you for providing this experience for children!
