challenge question # 1
I think the gray whales will be seen (in Kodiak, Alaska) near the end of January, and which is mean that it will be in the beginning of February, if the Gray Whales use their usually swimming speed which is 5MPH. The reason is the distance between L.A, CA and Kodiak, Alaska is about 3800 miles,so I take 3800 miles divided by 5MPH, and which i will have 760 hours for the Gray Whales to get there. Then i take this 760 hours divided by 24, because there is 24 hours per day, so as the result i get 31.6 and then i round this up as 32 days. Since the last time that we spotted the Gray Whales was December 29, 2002, i started to add two days from 32days to 29, i get 31, because there are only 31 days in December, and now i have 30 days left which is mean that the whales will reach Kodiak, Alaska in January 30, 2003. but the day for the gray whale who use the maximum of their speed, which is 10MPH, is probably in January 14 2003. how i did it? well it is still the same thing as i did before, but this time i divi
ded 3800 miles to 10MPH.
