My third grade class at Ridgeview Elementary in Bloomington came up with the following answer by using both dictionaries and encyclopedias.
AM is from the Latin ante meridiem which means before midday or before noon.
PM is from the Latin post meridiem which means after midday or after noon.
We look forward to next week's question!
