The 3-near-adult cranes in the pen site have been doing more unison calling since latecomer #214 showed up because they don't accept #214. They are showing #214 that she can't be part of their group. Also, the cranes don't know #214 and she is like a stranger because she has been gone for so long. The three cranes have already bonded with each other and don't want to accept anyone else. This shows that thet care about their family more than outsiders, cranes they don't know. They take the responsibility of protecting their family.
