How many pounds of food does an eagle need to consume each day? If you
needed the same percentage of food daily, how many pounds would you need?

If a 14 pound female eagle eats five to ten percent of its body weight it
would have to eat .7 to 1.4 pounds of food to stay healthy.

If a 9 pound male eagle eats five to ten percent of its body weight it would
have to eat .43 lbs. to .9 lbs.

If a 70 pound kid ate 5% his body weight he or she would have to eat 3.5
lbs. daily. If the same kid ate 10% their body weight they would eat 7 lbs.
daily. Not much compared to the hummingbirds, huh?
