    Challenge Question #9:
    ?Why do you think butterflies shiver so hard--and spend so much energy--trying to get off of the ground??

    Monarchs shiver because of the temperature. To stay warm we exercise, same goes for the butterfly.They need to get off the ground because the ground is colder than the trees. If they got too cold, they could freeze and die. They might be on the ground to drink and get what they need to survive, but they can't stay down there for too long.
