Challenge Question #5:
List factors that make for (1) a GOOD robin territory and (2) a POOR robin
territory.
A good robin territory would have
- food for an emergency, like a fruit tree or berries
- would not have a lot of loud noises
- not have too many people around
- not have a lot of predators around
- shelters to build nests, like near roofs or in pine trees
(We have seen robins build nests in millk cartons on porches or in
the letters on a big store sign)
- open spaces so the robins can see what is coming
A poor robin territory would:
- not have many other food sources
- be very noisy and busy
- not have safe places to nest
- would have a lot of places for predators to hide
